There are so many fans out there now, I wondered how you first heard about them. I remember the first time I heard about them was when I was listening to a radio countdown and "Quit Playin Games" came on...as soon as i heard their voices I was in love! and then when i saw the video...wow! all i have to say is now that is a video i could watch ALL day long!

The first day I became a BSB fan was July 9th, 1998. I was watching Eye Spy Video hosted by Dave Holmes. "As Long As You Love Me" came on and I just remember seeing these beautiful blue eyes, bright blonde hair, and gorgous voice- I was hooked. Been a fan ever since.

My first memory is when a girl I knew from Germany coming to visit me and she brought me a present, and it was the first Bsb album. She freaked out when I said I had never heard of the Backstreet Boys. :o I was a Nick fan at first, for about 2 months, then I was converted to a Bri fan because my friend loved Bri.

I remember liking the BSB's music and when I saw a picture of them, I was like, "Why are these girls tripping over Nick or any of them, for that matter?" I also remember thinking Howie was hot cuz he was the most normal looking. And I remember I couldn't tell the difference between Howie or AJ.

I think the first time I saw them was on the Intimate and Interactive on Much Music in the begining of 1998. I became a fan in April of 1998. :)

Now I became a Bsb fan in 97(thanks to some friend of mine.)But I do remember my first Bsb appearance that I seen(I have it on tape and everything,it's an old tape.)
Anways,it was Nick's 18th b-day and they were on MTV.It was a cold day on I am thinking it's TRL,cause it is hosted by Carson.Well, all the guys are wearing sweaters of different colors and they look pretty young, but at the same time so cute, lol.Anyways, they get up and sing an accapella(Sp?) version of "I'll Never Break Your Heart"(which by the way wasn't even released yet.)Then they all sat down on this couch thing and Carson asked some questions and then they brought out this B-day cake for Nick and he didn't even move,he was just laying back in the couch not even getting ready to blow the candles out,but finally I think Brian pushed him up and he blew out the candles of his cake. Then of course the show ended(or at least that's all I can remember at the moment, cause I haven't watched the tape for about a 1 and a half now, lol).

But that's the first time that I really got to see the guys on TV live and actually got to hear them sing live(then of course on January 31st '98 I seen them live in concert.)

My first memory was getting their promotional tape in like, '95 in the mail (cause I subscribed to Teen Beat or something...hey, I was 15!!). The one where they're on that radio station and they play clips of their songs...anyway, my first thought was, Oh my Lord, it's NKOTB wannabe's...I thought they were lame as all hell, but I ALWAYS thought that the little blond one was adorable! So, that was my first memory...the lame NKOTB rip offs...then I bought the QPG single, and it all changed.

Well I liked there music since the first moment I heard it but when I really bacame a fan was in 1998. I don't know if all high schools in the United States are invited(I don't think so) but in Florida we have this thing called Grad Night where the entire graduating class of a whole bunch of different high schools go to Walt Disney World and the park is only opened for them and its one big party that last all night long. Well I was lucky enough to have the Backstreet Boys be one of the acts they had for Grad Night that year. When I saw there show I was hooked. The second I got back to Miami I went and bought there first album and I've been hooked on BSB ever since. One part of the Backstreet Boys in Grad Night I will never forget was when Nick climbed this long pole at the end of the stage and said to the Class of 98 " I am part of your class and I love the fact I get to celebrate it with you all" I thought that was soo sweet. Well that's my story.

At the dawning of time in the Reigel Star Sector, a small but water-rich planet harbored at a crucial moment in its history the ideal conditions that sparked sentient life into being. Behold the first rudimentary ancestor of the proud Emotari achieves land.............what? Oh, you mean what is my first terRESTRIAL memory of them.

The Hater dragged me reluctantly into Best Buy in May of 1999. I was wandering around while he was scoping out video games and I wandered into the tv section. I heard some great harmonies coming from a set which snapped my head 'round. I gazed upon the IWITW video with AJ and Nick and the rest is history.

I haven't been a fan for that long at all really. The very first time I remember seeing them on TV was in '99 on the Live MTV special before Millennium came out. It was a rerun on a Saturday and I was bored out of my mind, so I watch this show, not really interested in them at all. I remember thinking they were cute but that was all I got out of them, at that time. And then I saw the LTL video and then at the VMAs, still not interested ;) And in January 13, 2000, I remember the date cause it's my Moms birthday and we all went out. As we were driving home and SMTM came on the radio. I was mesmerized by this song, it brought back feelings of losing my own Dad 2 years earlier. I understood the real meaning of that song instantly, and the way it was sung so passionately brought me to tears. So after learning that was BSB, I went out later and got Millennium, and then absorbing all the BSB info I could get. You would not believe how many times I stared at that Cd booklet read over their thank yous and listened to Millennium. ;)I remember thinking "they look so much younger than their age" *lol* I just couldn't believe Brian was 24!!! :) So I've been hooked ever since and it just keeps getting better. :D My only regret is not letting this take hold sooner. :p

First time I heard them: QPG, I loved the song :)

Saw a picture: My friend shoved a picture of Nick in my face and was like "He's hot!" Of course I agreed, cuz, well he is. but then I saw a picture of Brian and was hooked :)

First vid: Everbody, I know I was slow on getting around to watching their videos :( I wish I would have started sooner, but I have seen them all, including the rare other verson of INBYH with all their gf in it :) Awe and Anywhere, lol.

I can't remember the first real appearance I saw... I wish I could, but I can't :( Grrr.... something before all the mill appearances though, probably trl.

There you have it, my dull history on how a became a backstreet fan :)

I had heard they're song on the radio but never really paid any attention to it. Then Grad Nite '98 They were on the main stage infront of Cinderella's Castle. I went to the 1st show and was like WOW!! So then I went to the 2nd and 3rd shows on the same night and I was right up front as close as possible. That was it after that night I was hooked.

I must have seen them on either Regis and Kathi Lee or some other talk show but I wasn't into music at the time. But I remember they sang As Long As You Love Me and did the chair dance routine. I thought they were cute, I notice Brian's voice and I wondered why they were singing with their coats on!

And that was it for conscious memory. I must have heard QPG and AIHTG and INBYH on the radio but it was in one ear and out the other.

So, in August of 1999, I was flipping channels, and on MTV they were playing IWITW. Kevin looked me in the eye and sang "Now I can see that we've fallen apart from the way that it used to be. No matter the distance, I want you to know, that deep down inside of MEEEEEE" And I felt that Emotari *zap* to the brain stem. I was compelled to stay up until 4:00 am looking up these guys on the computer. My hubby had taken the boys camping so I had the place to myself. I discovered .mp3s that night, too.

And now I've got this d*mn compulsion for mpeg videos.

I'll never be the same. And that's OK.

It must have been the Get Down video. At first, I kind of thought they were phoney :D But then, I heard Quit Playing Games on my radio and I didn't like the song at first again, because of course, I was biased and thought if it was the Backstreet Boys, it couldn't be any good!!! LOL. Obviously I fell in love with the song a day later and the rest is a history...

My first memory of the guys was in the fall of 1996. The guys performed at my high school for a Radio Station before a football game. I remember them being cute and sounding good but kind of nervous. I remember them handing out promotional books pixs and info on the guys and a tape. They were laying all over the ground so my friends and i filled my book bag with them cause we knew they would make it big sometime soon. And by God they did. I took the book with me to every concert that i see BSB and Last Feb when i met the guys i showed them the book and they laugh so hard. But i still have a book bag full of these books and tapes.

It's posted on my site (http://www.kevaholic.cjb.net : drop by and sign the gbook if you do ;)) so I think I'll just copy and paste it.

I come from Abidjan,Ivory Coast, West Africa, where there is RARELY EVER mention of the Backstreet Boys, not to say NEVER! the only way I used to hear about them, is through the french magazines.
The 1st time I saw a picture of the guys, it was in one; it was about october 1995, at the time the guys were on promotion tour there. I saw their pic, and IMMEDIATELY, the tall dark one attracted me, so I read their story, and discovered that his name was Kevin; he had gotten his cousin in the group too, I thought that was very nice!
Since I didn't have any access to their music, they were nothing more than a bunch of other pretty faces to me; boy, how wrong was I...lol! Kevin was among my fave faces, though.
Then, my cousin spent the summer 1996 in England, and came back singing "Get down"; I swear the way she sang it, I thought it was techno or something! lol! The next thing I knew, all my friends were copying the lyrics to the song, when they had never even heard it. I was like, "what the heck for???"
In July 1997, I went to England, to improve my english skills, and I saw the video for "Everybody (backstreet's back)". It just blew me away, and I totally fell in love with the music AND the green-eyed guy! Kevin had some chest shots in that vid, how could I possibly resist??? lol! I bought the album, and loved it! At the time, he had his "Oasis" phase going on, but he was still cute :D!
