October 28, 2008, (Sawf News) - The Jonas Brothers will star in 20th Century Fox's upcoming family film Walter the Farting Dog, based on a bestselling series of books by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray.

The film will feature the three rocker siblings as well as their 7-year-old younger brother Frankie, often referred to as Bonus Jonas, reports Variety. It is likely to be directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly who will co-produce the film with Bradley Thomas under the trio's Conundrum banner. Filming is expected to start next spring.

In the film, the brothers play musicians whose parents are asked to look after "Walter," a fat dog with severe flatulence, by their dying aunt.

"By the time they've driven the dog home, everybody's head is out the window of the family station wagon but Frankie, and only because he has a serious sinus problem and doesn't notice the stench coming from Walter," said Peter Farrelly.

While the elder siblings focus on their music Frankie and Walter bond and plan their own adventurous escapades.

Fox envisages a "Walter" franchise and have engaged Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen who worked on Garfield to pen the screen play.

Earlier this year in June, the brothers featured in Disney Channel's made-for-TV musical, Camp Rock.
