Where the **** is the promo? The album is being released in one week. Does Jive really think that the documentary and the I-bet-it's-going-to-be-canceled GMA performance is enough?
She's not even showing up to these places. I have a feeling the album is going to flop.

Don't underestimate Britney :p Womanizer went to #1 with no real promo either, right?

I doubt the album will flop, even without any promo, but you're right. I was telling my sister tonight that she shouldn't look forward to seeing Britney perform on GMA.lol I wouldn't be surprised if Britney backed out. I don't think JIVE will pressure her to do it either because they KNOW she can sell without the promotion.

She will go on a promo tour after Dec 2nd. She has an exclusive deal to only perform for ABC in America until after GMA. GMA, Britney: For The Record, Womanizer going to #1 and the fact that she's Britney Spears will all allow Circus to debut big. After the debut, she will do actual promo. Count on it.

i also think they want her to take baby steps with the promotion of this album, which is a good thing. she was already a smoking, gum chewing disaster at a recent taping, so it's good they take it easy. if this would have been 5 years ago, by now she would have performed on the vmas, snl, and the AMAs prior to GMA, so we're just spoiled lol.

Britney is in the news every hour of the day. That's enough promo!

Whine, whine, whine.
Britney is not the average artist. She can generate more hype and interest from turning up to an event than most artists could after a week of non-stop performances. Her first performance will be all over the international news regardless of when or where it happens. Promo is the last thing you should be worrying about.

She got paid $5 million for her GMA deal. When is anyone else gonna do it?

I should think most people are aware that Britney is releasing a new album next week. Even without good promotion, it has usually accompanied all the tabloid stories I read of her every week. I don't think the album will flop at all, and I would rather her not do so much promo if she would make a hot mess of it.That being said, it's always nice to see Britney out and about working it but ya know, it's probably not essential.

Quoting this to bump every time she performs and especially on December 2nd.
She's performing at Star Academy this Friday and the X-Factor this Saturday, in addition to the GMA concert next Tuesday. Are those performances going to get canceled too?
And it's a good thing she didn't perform at the AMA's. That would be too much pressure for her first performance, not to mention she has these other performances to do as well, it'd probably be too much for her.

I dont think she cares about the old-school promos she used to do right now. Shes Britney freaking Spears. If she doesnt want to do them she doesnt have to!
I think she is staying away from talk shows and such because she wants to be able to control what questions will be asked. That is why she is doing private interviews and putting them on her website and doing the For The Record. She can probably control what is being asked and how in depth it goes. She is doing all of the extra stuff for her FANS. She doesnt care about proving herself to people who don't care, and she knows she can sell a ton of albums without going on Leno and Ellen.
She is rehearsing and doing what she needs to have an awesome performance right now.

Best post I've read in a while.
I'm not trying to sound like some c0cky-fan but Britney Spears does notneed to do continuous promotional runs as if she is some newcomer.
But its understandable that fans expect her to be everywhere since this is her comeback, even though Britney has said she doesn't see this as comeback....she never really left.

I am shocked there has been no promo. I hope that she Does tons of promo next week and the following week. What happened to the **First Class BIG PROMO** Jive talked about back in September??
I want to see BRITNEY!!! She better bring it on GMA for Real.

People are excited about For the Record, her performance on X-Factor and GMA. That is promo and once the album is out, I am sure she will do more and the album will not flop, it's Britney Spears!
