A friend of mine said a number of her employees called in sick today, to which I applied I've been sick for eight years and today feel much better.

I've been doing my best to keep dry eyes, with marginal success. How's everyone else doing this historic day?

I admit, I cried a little.

Some of what he said rang so true for me.

"Taking a pay cut so your fellow co-worker can keep his job."

Very moving ceremony -- I thought the speech was awesome. What an exciting day for this country.

On a lighter note...Can we all agree, regardless of political orientation, that Aretha Franklin's hat was an abomination? I can't get it out of my head and don't want that to be my lasting image of the inauguration. ;)

Replace it with the view of W leaving.

When Aretha got up I was like WHOA! what is that on her head?!

But the shot of Bush leaving on a helicopter was great. :)

I was indifferent to the hat. It's Aretha after all. I just want to hear her sing!

I did have a friend post on facebook she loved tha hat. Right after her another friend changed his update about how he disliked the hat. Two separate incidents.

I was just glad it was cold so she couldn't wear one of her infamous "spring is busting out all over" get ups. Her stylist should be smacked.

True. If this had been April, she may have been wearing peacocks and lemon trees and who-knows-what on her head. lol

The Daily Show crew touched on this at the end of Indecision '08, when they realized they could all be out of jobs. Mas havoc for a bit there.

Something's happening. CNN just said they thought Sen. Kennedy collapsed and an ambulance was called.

President Obama just made some remarks about his thoughts being with him, so apparently something did happen.

Sen. Kennedy apparently had a seizure and was still seizing as they put him in a wheelchair and took him out of the luncheon. Sen. Byrd apparently also had some kind of health problem and also left the luncheon.

I heard Sen. Byrd was just upset about Sen. Kennedy and had to be taken out.

As am I. I've seen quite a few Inauguration Days in my lifetime, but none like this.

Very special day in America. When I think that black folks couldn't vote in my lifetime without taking a literacy test and today we have an African-American President, it's really quite remarkable.

Groundhog Day was still two weeks away but cameras at The Obama Coronation Ceremony caught another little rodent coming out of it's hole. I understand Rahm saw his shadow so that means 6 more weeks of scandals.

Loved the Hannity/Rush interview, or the little I had the misfortune of stumbling on. They were talking about the hero worship for Obama, comparing him to the Messiah for the likes of me...

Do they really think that's any different from how they treated Bush? He can do no wrong, he deserves our undying support, he'll undo all Clinton has done. Yep, thanks for that last bit George, thanks a lot.
