...And the troops are still in Iraq and Afghanistan, the economy isn't any better, the weather is still too cold (despite global warming) and when I got home there was no free money in my mailbox. :noway:

And yet again, proof of what I've been saying for weeks. The naysayers are the ones that expect BAM! everything fixed overnight that took 8+ years to deteriorate into what we're dealing with now.
How old are you? 14? Honestly.

How old are you? 14? Honestly. No this is what many people are expecting. As I attend classes, I hear people talking about how Obama is going to take care of their mortgages, day care, school loans, and even car payments. This is what the people expect from him because that is what he promised through out his campaign. He will take care of you....A change is coming to america. If you want a job, just go see Obama because he pretty much has promised you one. People talk this way because that is what they have heard from him. The Government is going to take care of it's people now. So welcome to big government...and I don't know of very many countries where big government has worked.

I recall him promising to help rebuild this country, help start to fix the economic mess we're in, help start to fix the healthcare problems, help build jobs. But when people hear what they want to hear, instead of what's been said?
HOnestly, i have not heard ONE PERSON who supported Obama say the crap you just said. It's the people like you, who never intended to give him a chance, that have said this crap. Hearing what you want to hear.

Hey Reg, don't expect that check any time soon....ROFL. I heard all this money was going to our infrastructure. Also, according to Robert Riech, Obama's Economic Advisor, money should go to people who are not professionals or white construction workers, but those who are long term unemployed, women and minorities.
Hey wait a minute...I'm a woman, maybe I'll get a check....LOL doubt it.

HOnestly, i have not heard ONE PERSON who supported Obama say the crap you just said. It's the people like you, who never intended to give him a chance, that have said this crap. Hearing what you want to hear.I listen very carefully to him, because I want my nation to succeed and get out of this mess, but unfortunately I don't think he'll do the job just from what he has been saying.
Obama has stated he will generate jobs through construction on bridges, airports, highways, and other public projects. Working on these types of projects are usually through the government whether it be local, state or federal. Obama promised 2 million jobs and spending $60 billion to get it done. Along with another 5 million jobs in "green jobs" costing the government another $150 billion. SO yeah, he is promising that the government will make these jobs, and basically that if you are unemployed, come see the government, we'll put you to work.
Democrat Barack Obama said Wednesday that as president he would spend $210 billion to create jobs in construction and environmental industries, as he tried to win over economically struggling voters.
Obama's investment would be over 10 years as part of two programs. The larger is $150 billion to create 5 million so-called "green collar" jobs to develop more environmentally friendly energy sources.
Sixty billion would go to a National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank to rebuild highways, bridges, airports and other public projects. Obama estimated that could generate nearly 2 million jobs, many of them in the construction industry that's been hit by the housing crisis.

I guess you have been ignoring what your fellow Americans have been saying during little interviews the news does each night. I hear it every day as well at college from students younger then me. The day after the election, a black man in front of me said
"I'm not worried, I've got a bro in the white house to take care of me now" I stated this a few days after the election. Yes, I'm sorry you don't believe it, but people are expecting this of him, and they will be disappointed when it does not happen.

Connie, Please provide a source that shows Riech does not want to give to non professionals and non whites.....OMG, you didn't hear it in the media yesterday..what a surprise. That's where I heard it, but maybe I'm hearing things again...lol
Reich - "I am concerned, as I'm sure many of you are, that these jobs not simply go to high-skill people who are already professionals or to white male construction workers. I have nothing against white male construction workers. I'm just saying that there are a lot of other people who have needs as well, and therefore, in my remarks, I have suggested to you, and I'm certainly happy to talk about it more, ways in which the money can be -- criteria can be set so that the money does go to others, the long-term unemployed, minorities, women, people who are not necessarily construction workers or high-skilled professionals."
Here's a video of him saying it, I tried to find one without all the comments, but couldn't, so just ignore that part as I did.

Interesting that I haven't heard word one of that sort while talking to ANYONE (and I've talked to a lot of Obama supporters) anything like that. They have all felt the way I feel. The boards I go to, the people I talk to on the train, the people I talk to in the stores, the people I talk to at the offices I temp at. No one believes the things you've just said.
I'm not ignoring anything. I just do n't have on rose colored glasses. It took 8+ years to get us into the mess we're in, it's going to take at least that long to get us out. I'm realistic.

Maybe you and the people you attend classes with should take some listening comprehension courses, because Obama made no such promises.
