Sources said the reason Paterson had decided not to tap the daughter of John F. Kennedy was her poor performances in media interviews and in in private sessions with various officials.

Awwww....Ya know, I was hoping they'd pick Caroline, ya know, because she's never had a real job before and so, ya know, that makes her supremely qualified to be a Democrat politician, ya know? Plus she says "ya know" all the time and generally makes Sarah Palin look like a Rhodes Scholar in comparison.

Caroline Kennedy tonight withdrew her name from consideration to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate after learning that Gov. David Paterson wasn't going to choose her, The Post has learned.

Kennedy's decision removes the highest-profile name in the ring to step into Clinton's now-vacant seat, as she departs after getting confirmed today as President Obama's Secretary of State.

Sources said the reason Paterson had decided not to tap the daughter of John F. Kennedy was her poor performances in media interviews and in in private sessions with various officials.

Aides to Kennedy couldn't be reached for comment.

From what I heard she dropped out because of Ted Kennedy and his health problem and what happen to him on Tuesday.

I never liked the thought of her wanting to be a senator.
Just tired of the Kennedy name and that family...

Of course she might know people, have lots of connections...She may and may not be right person for the job.

I feel she only wanted that job because Obama got elected President. and she wanted to be apart of it, and be a glory hog.

If Hillary Clinton was elected President instead of Obama, would Caroline Kennedy be in the running for Hilliary's Senate seat? probably not.

that is why I feel that Caroline Kennedy only did it because of Obama.

Really?

Kennedy, 51, graduated from Columbia Law School but never practiced law. She raised three children, wrote and edited several books, served on the boards of public service organizations and worked as the unpaid chief of fundraising for the New York City schools.

Aside from a 22-month, three-day-a-week stint as director of strategic partnerships for the New York City schools, her commitments generally involve nonprofit boards: the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the American Ballet Theater, the Commission on Presidential Debates and the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.
.....
Kennedy's work with the city's public schools has won much attention, but has not been widely understood. Hired in October 2002 to overhaul the schools' private fund-raising, she took on a haphazard operation and gave it a new mission: privately raising seed money to test new reforms, while trying to persuade New Yorkers to get involved in the schools in meaningful ways. Her $1 salary meant she did not have to fill out financial disclosure forms.

A rock concert in Central Park raised $2 million; a tag sale there drew tens of thousands of bargain hunters. Some of them, unwittingly, walked off with evening bags that had belonged to her mother, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, said Ann Moore, the chief executive of Time Inc., which sponsored the event. By the time she left in August 2004, she had raised more than $70 million for an academy to train reform-minded principals. Nearly 200 city school principals are graduates, the majority in high-poverty schools.

^ Better start I'd say than going from pageant queen to city council member of podunk town to the governor of Alaska.

Chances are, doing non-profits like that, she was worrying about more people than live in Wasilla. Oh, that's right, non-profits aren't real jobs to you or Sarah.

The non-Post version of things:
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dailypolitics/2009/01/aide-caroline-became-aware-of.html
Caroline Kennedy’s aides this morning are saying her decision to withdraw from consideration for the U.S. Senate seat had nothing to do with the health of her uncle, Sen. Ted Kennedy.

An aide to Kennedy said early yesterday afternoon Kennedy had “every indication that things were going well” in her bid for the Senate.

Sometime in the early to mid afternoon, Kennedy “became aware of a personal situation that was occuring. It had nothing to do with Ted.”

The aide wouldn’t say what the personal matter was.

“She called the governor to inform him she was not going to be able to take the job, particularly one that comes with such enomorous responsibility.”

The governor told Kennedy to take 24 hours to think about it, which she agreed to do.

Shortly after, the Kennedy aide said, word began spreading that she was pulling out. Kennedy spent the evening thinking about what to do and finally late last night called the governor to say she decided to pull out. “She thanked him for his time,” the aide said.

Why? That tax cheat "genius" they want as Treasury Secretary has "tax issues" and an "illegal housekeeper" problem and he's going to get confirmed! What's the difference?

Sweeeeeeeeeeeet Caroliiiiiiiiiiiine!!! Buh buh buhhhhhh

Ya know, I felt sorry for Caroline, ya know? But only for a few seconds until I caught myself, ya know?

KENNEDY NEVER HAD A CHANCE: SOURCE

TAX, NANNY, MARRIAGE WERE ALL ISSUES

By MAGGIE HABERMAN IN NY and FREDRIC U. DICKER IN ALBANY

In a stunning revelation, a source close to Gov. David Paterson insisted this afternoon that the governor "had no intention" of picking Caroline Kennedy for New York's vacant senate seat - because she was "mired" in an issue over taxes, her nanny and possibly her marriage.

Kennedy was "mired in some potentially embarrassing personal issues," the source said, citing tax liabilities and worker compensation liabilities connected to the employment of a nanny.

The source also said the state of her marriage may have presented a problem as well.

"She has a tax problem that came up in the vetting and a potential nanny issue," the source said. "And reporters are starting to look at her marriage more closely," the source continued, refusing to provide any specifics.

Kennedy denied any issue over her marriage in an interview with The Post last month. Aides to Kennedy couldn't immediately be reached.
