WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh (http://www.nypost.com/topics/topic.php?t=Rush+Limbaugh) if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration Who does he think he is to tell people what they can listen to??????? Our congress can listen to ANYONE they well please, that is their right and no one can tell them differently....including the President.

In an exchange with Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) about the proposal, the president shot back: "I won," according to aides briefed on the meeting.
"I will trump you on that."
Not that Obama was gloating. He was just explaining that he aims to get his way on stimulus package and all other legislation, sources said, noting his unrivaled one-party control of both congressional chambers.
The statement in red really bothers me, as he doesn't seem to really care what may come of all this legislation he is proposing...he's doing it because he's president. I think the dems need to slow down and do some real critical thinking about all this because it may come back to haunt them in the end.

Once again, you've completely missed the point. Obama wasn't telling them they can't listen to Rush. If they want to listen to that windbag, they certainly can, but they shouldn't expect the new administration to give them any credibility if that's their mindset. This isn't Bush any more. Parroting Rush isn't going to help them.
As for the second part of your post, I don't recall your saying that Bush should have considered any of his ideas and how they would have affected the country while he had the majority in Congress.

Hooray for President Obama! I'm very glad he's standing up to Limbaugh and those who take his rantings to heart. I heard him, he wants President Obama to fail. Limbaugh is nothing but a trash talker. I'm glad the President is throwing an elbow back.

Huh? How do you get that he doesn't care about what may come of all this legislation from the statement in red? Here's a wacky thought: maybe he wants to get his way on legislation because he actually believes it's in the best interest of this country and its citizens.
I think Obama has had plenty of time to think and is ready for action. If he didn't act immediately, you and your right-wing buddies would be claiming he wasn't doing anything. It's called a no-win situation.

Obama isn't trying to tell people not to listen to people of the other side. As pointed out, it's about Rush's blowhard fabrications.
I've been very impressed with Obama's attempts to reach out to everyone. Maybe not Rush, but why should he? He did reach out to the actual minds of the opposition media, having dinner with them at - of all people's - George F. Will's house.
If you're willing to think, if you are a true patriot that loves this country and wants nothing but the best for it, Obama will work with you. If you are a self-serving, lying piece of lard that can't add anything productive to the workings of this country, get out of the way.

Maybe he's proposing because he DOES care what becomes of this country. How hard is that to understand?

Obama clearly see a different path to prosperity, security, health coverage for everyone and a different role for government to play in reaching those goals. We're moving in direct opposition to many of the positions endorsed by Limbaugh, Hannity and their fans, like ConnieB and Regis and their minority leaders, like Reps. Boehner and Cantor.
That's fine. A majority of American didn't like the results of a Republican majority in Congress or a Republican administration in the White House, so they voted them out. Elections have consequences.

According to this article you American's already have a little dictator in your hands. Looks like Obama thinks he is a King of America and because he won an election he can forbid people to listen to some radio station. First he would say not to listen, second he would close the radio station and than what?
He said "I won!" Sorry but did he even think about people who made it happened for him? When he went from "We won", to " I won"? Did he really thinks that if he won, he can do everything he wants?

That's certainly something that someone exclusively reading right-wing accounts from the NY Post and right-wing blogs might be led to believe.
First, it's a casual statement, not a policy. Second, what he said is that Republican lawmakers can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and expect to get much accomplished.
If they, like some of the less-informed members of the public, choose to focus their information input on hyper-partisan, bellicose comedians, they're not going to be very well-informed. And honestly, that applies to solely listening to aggressively liberal speakers as well. Treating Randi Rhodes as your primary source of information would be just as problematic.
Also, the statement that he won was a push back to Republican lawmakers who want to mire a lot of critical decisions in partisan debate. He's making the point that he doesn't need to water down the policies he campaigned on just to appease the minority. He's got the votes in Congress, he was elected on those policies by the American people and he's pointing out that elections have consequences. The president gets to make decisions without asking the minority party for permission.

I used to listen to Rush, Sean, Alan, and that blonde chick with the short hair, I think she's Laura Ingram. I think its fine to listen to them but you shouldn't buy into their mindset as the mindset of everyone in the rest of the country. Its like relying on JFK, Elizabeth, and other movies for history. Plus radio personalities like Rush and Sean are very narrowminded similar to their counterparts on the farfarfar left.

WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts. Limbaugh's response:
