'Hamas thwarts Carter assassination'

Hamas reportedly foiled an attempt by Palestinian terrorists to kill former US president Jimmy Carter during his visit to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

Israeli security sources said they had learned of plans to target Carter and had passed on the information to his security detail in "real time."

According to Palestinian sources, terrorists linked to al-Qaida hid a number of bombs along a road Carter's convoy was scheduled to travel on while in the Strip.

Following Carter's entry to Gaza, five men, some wearing Hamas police uniforms, removed three large black disks and some wire from a sand dune next to a road Carter had used. They then reportedly destroyed the improvised bombs.

Good for Carter that Israel found about bombs and warned him, or his visited would be much shorter.
This show how "peaceful" Palestinians are. I want to know is Carter now have the same respect for Muslim religion as his boss Obama have? According to Obama Cairo speech, Muslims brought so many good things in this world. An terrorists with bombs is one of them.

This show how "peaceful" Palestinians are. I want to know is Carter now have the same respect for Muslim religion as his boss Obama have? According to Obama Cairo speech, Muslims brought so many good things in this world. An terrorists with bombs is one of them.

A respect for Islam has nothing to do with this assassination attempt. It isnt the average Muslim that plans this sort of thing. its like associating all Christians with those that bomb abortion clinics.

This is an average Muslim, who plans this kind of things. I don't think the Palestinian official people wanted something to happen to US ambassador. They are not that stupid. And I can't get how anyone beside Muslims themselves can respect this religion which screaming for assassination of innocent people, who treat women like dirt and who execute kids in age from 6 to 12 for imaginary crimes. I really don't think this kind of thing could be respected.
You think not all Christian's supported the bomber of abortion clinic? You could fool me. So what about all this protesters around all abortion clinics? I can't understand what kind of right can have any religion to tell women what to do with her own body? I am not surprised that the countries, which have no birth control are very overcrowded.

Nobody are praising anyone. Just simple acknowledge of the fact. But for worshipers like you it's a big deal, because you always hate anything what your opponents do and praise everything your Idol do. sometimes I think you are living on the moon or in some kind of virtual world with twisted reality, where all people divided on friends (who support your political views) or enemies (who political views you hate). Maybe sometimes you need to came to the real world and see the life the way it is. most of people who live in real world, learned how to tolerate each other. Just because Hamas is terrorists organization, it doesn't mean they can't do something useful. Like I said in other post people in Palestine are not an idiots. They want to have a good image for US and European ambassadors. That's why they wanted to save Carter. But without Israel information their tries would be nothing. This is just another reason to show, that practically Israel and Palestine probably could've live in peace,if Palestinians would want to participate. But the problem is to find the reason to make them want to do it.

They are not the average Muslims. you are very obviously filled with hate. Islam is the only religion in which a woman can get a divorce, in Christianity, you cannot. I do not think that all Christians support bombings of abortion clinics, you overlooked my point, which is that its a very small sect of the overall religion that act in incredulous ways, it's the same with the extremeist Muslims.

This is bigotry. A billion+ Muslims live peacefully. The people on the streets of Iran are Muslims. In Spain, Islamic culture was tolerant of Jews. It was only when the Christians took over that the Inquisition began. If you had lived at that time, would you have attributed the inquisition to the Christian religion?

It is not the fault of the religion. It is people who use Islam to further worldly ambitions. At heart, this conflict is political and cultural.

Until you stop deriding the religion of peaceful people, there will be no hope for peace. Please look at yourself because it is people like you who are the barrier to peace.
