After sixteen years of telling myself not to do it...I caved. I went to the local talent agency and signed up as an actress. What in the hell am I doing?! Holy smoke balls! Am I really doing this?! I think I've done lost my mind!
Yeah...um...heh...casting calls start this week. :nc:

Is that what you've always wanted to do?? lol
Don't worry about it, sweetie. It seems like SOMETHING was telling you to do it. I've always wanted to be an actress too, but that might be done the line right now.
take a deep breath and think. It'll be okay. :)

It's what I've wanted to do since I could walk. My parents always disputed it. I went all through high school being jealous of the kids in drama class. Now it came itching back. I dunno what possessed me to do this. I've done lost my mind.

You have not lost your mind. I honestly think this is a sign that you're ready to move forward. To start over in your life. :)

True...it's just scary. Completely out of character for me. I've avoided this forever.

remember you only live once me dear........
i've always lived by this, maybe you've heard it :p
"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get."
hehe. If any opportunity lands in front of you (doesn't matter what it is), take it. Because somebody else will.

 at the quote. I dunno, I just got this sudden burst of inspiration. It came out of nowhere. I signed up with this company blindly, but not so blind that I didn't know what I signing up for. For once the little voice in my head didn't say, "You're too ugly to be an actress." I kept waiting for that voice and it never came. LOL! Just...weird!

iv been there and done that and it wasnt much fun. To start of with it was fun being in the tv shows that I watch on TV but acouple of scenes can take up a whole day and the waiting around wasnt fun at all. At the end it wasnt enough $ and i decided to get a fulltime job instead because they would call as often for you to work and I needed a job where I can rely on for $. But good luck to you.

I don't need a job. I'm a student. This is to get my foot in the door, but now I feel stupid. I'll just quit. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry, I'm easily embarrassed when it appears like I'm being told it's a dumb idea. I've had people tell me that my entire life. I'm not stupid enough to use this as my primary job. It's my defense mechanism to keep from going off on people when I probably should. You can't blame me for thinking that you were laughing at me. That's exactly how it appeared. I know who I am and what I can do. I'm one hell of an actress, but I'm not blind to the fact that I gotta work my way from the ground up. I don't expect to make it big, that's not a factor to me as long as I'm doing something I enjoy. It's to get my foot in the door while I'm in college. Who knows what opportunities I will come across while I'm doing this. The possibilities are endless.
I don't mind the waiting around. In fact, I would take it seriously enough to learn about other things around me. It would be a good time to learn about the business while still being new. I don't mind any of that stuff. So, forgive me for being blunt, but I felt like you came in and was trying to piss me off for no apparent reason. If that wasn't your intentions, that was exactly how it looked.

Sorry that wasn't my intentions. I know how you feel though. My ex boyfriend was serious about being an actor and a model and people thought he was crazy and stupid but then he got odd modeling jobs here and there and people started regretting what they had said previously . Your right the possibilities are endless but you have to get out there and find them to get where you wanna be. If I have any advice though it would be...be prepared for criticism. Its everywhere in this kind of business and im sure you already know that. I was an extra for a very popular show here in NZ and when I was called to work you can bet on it sometime during the day I would be treated like scum from anyone of the crew members and sometimes felt like a Tool. But thats what your there for and its worth it for the experience and to get your foot in the door.

Criticism isn't a problem for me when it comes from people within the business. If I can stand in front of the American Idol judges and gracefully listen to them give me advice on how to improve then criticism isn't anything new to me. I'd rather hear it from them than from someone who knows nothing about it. I take things as a lesson learned. Of course people treat extras like crap. They're the low man on the totem poles. That's to be expected, no doubt. It's like that anywhere you go. I don't care what field you're in, if you're a newbie or in a low rank position, you're gonna get shoved around. It happens all the time. I didn't work my way from employee to store manager by being a wuss. I know how to maintain professionalism. I may keep my mouth shut at work, but I'm completely different outside of work. If someone pisses me off, I'm gonna be damn sure I say something, end of story.

I don't work there anymore since I decided to go to school, but it was an Arby's. I know, fast food does't seem that hard, but it can be. The owners were really tough to work for. Everything had to be perfect. Believe me, I got my share of criticism while working there.
