You are a correspondent for Dateline (a soft news television magazine). They tell you you are going to be interviewing the Backstreet Boys. We know that nearly every reporter who has interviewed them so far is an idiot. Since you are savvy and in the know what unususal and in depth questions do you ask the group and/or each Boy (remembering it's going to be at most a 15 minute segment)?

Why is Brian so anti-fan social at times?

How do you feel about the fans who are not only unsupportive of your wives, but full of hatred towards them?

To those whose brians are not awake at this time of the morning, y'all come back now, ya hear?

Yes, I know.

I wrote them under two prefixes
1. Journalist who wants a good honest review
2. Hard-Nosed Reporting (stuff that might make them feel uncomfortable)

Ok, here goes

1. Brian, the other members in the group seem to be more at ease in the spotlight than you, at least from what I've noticed, is that because this is something you never really wanted to do anyway? If so, then why are you doing it?

2. Kevin, if you could have one last talk with your father, for a few hours, now that you're successful, what would you tell him?

3. Have any of you, at any given moment, have you felt so bad about what you were doing for a living, that you'd rather die than do it for one more day.

4. The day comes when you've left this all behind, and have started a family, one day your child comes up to you and says "Dad, I've seen what you used to do, and I wanna do it myself, will you help me?", what would you do?

5. What keeps you going? Time and time again you've all said how much this job frustrates you, so what makes you drag yourselves onto a stage or into a recording studio to record "one more album"?

6. Kevin, you still have a lot of anger towards your old management, is it bacause of what they did, or a combination of betrayal, deceit, or anger because now, for the second time in your life, someone you loved, respected and trusted was gone.

7. Kevin, in the last article you all did for Rolling Stone, you had mentioned that you were looking into Eastern Culture and religion, is that because you feel let down by your Christian faith, with the death of your father?

8. AJ, there are a lot of stories out there about you doing things that some people would call "self-destructive", do you think in a way, that you are?

9. Nick, there are times in our lives when we laugh, and we cry, but you've said you can't cry anymore, does that scare you? What do you do to release your pain? Can you even at all?

10. Howie, out of all the guys in the group, you seem to be the one that's single most of the time, is there any reason why?

11. Nick, you've been doing this for so long now, in a way longer than the others, since your were so young when you started, does the thought of leaving it all behind to live a "normal life" scare you? Do you even think you know how to live your life outside of the spotlight?

12. Brian, you and your wife had a very extravagant wedding ceremony, and I know that's a day you want to splurge on, but with hindsight, do you feel like some of the extras (24K gold pieces on a cake) were being a bit ostentatious? (I'm a journalist, not a fan, remember)

13. You five have been together now as a group for almost a decade. You've shed blood, sweat, and tears together. You're not just a group, but you're family. Having said all of that, if you had the chance to do this all over again, knowing some of the disappointments that would come, would you have still given this a try or would you walk away?

I hope y'all like these *crosses fingers*

Wow Ebony, those questions are awesome! I'd love to actually see them answer every one of them. I don't think they even think that deep about things.

No no uh uh Roks, we haven't heard any deep answers because the interviewers chose to have the same ol blah blah blah questions! :D

Ebony, gurl BSB should definitely give ya a call! ;)

Ebony, that was awesome!! Now you have two professions to chose from! Teaching or journalism. I'd really love to hear them answer those questions. The damn journalists need to be taking notes :o

Nice questions, Ebony!

If I had this opportunity, I'd set aside some major brainstorming time, but here are a couple (not so deep ones) off the top of my head:

When the five of you are together and you hear one of your songs on the radio, (leaving out the lack-of-BSB-airplay factor here) what are your reactions? Do you change the station as quickly as possible so you don't have to hear it again, or do you just listen and soak it in?

If you could change anything about your lives in the past, what would it be?

That's all for now... It's been a long week.

I'm glad you guys like them. Actually, you all were my inspiration behind those questions. Things we've posted on the board, our thoughts, they all came to me and I wrote them down. Now who do we get them to to find out the answers :D
Ebony
ps: PP007, it's funny you said that, because this morning my mom was telling me I ought to minor in Enhlish ed, and with that degree, I could not only teach English, but go into journalism so I'm gonna look into it :D

Ebony, those were amazing questions, the type that I would love to hear the answers to. Im so sick of all the media hype, I wish someone would just ask normal questions to get answers that we dont already know!

You definitely should consider journalism! You are great at it ;)

Ebony journalism is an option for me too. but im scared... everyone hates a journalist ;) lol

LMGDAO @ #10 mmmmmwwwwhahahaaa.

if there have been any, what is the one moment that sticks in your mind when a fan has said or done something to

a) really touch youre heart and makes you think about it for days afterwards

b) make you feel almost upset that they could think that about you, or what you do, or how you are. somehting that almost made you wish they WERENT a fan.

ok i cant really explain it but i know what i mean. there mustve been SOMETHING that a fan has done that made them ashamed that they were a fan of theirs. geddit?

Bubbaloo, I don't think everyone hates journalists...just the idiot journalists. Unfortunately there are alot of them out there but when a good one comes along they are truly respected. :)

(Geeze, thank's for bumping up another positve post)

GREAT TOPIC!

My question would be:

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE COLOR? (just kidding, LOL)

Bif-

I have an answer to your question. Back in 1999, I met the Boys at Studio 54 in Vegas and the DJ starts playing ALAYLM and the Boys had NO REACTION. They kept goin' about their business and continued to chat away!

Bumping this up because Nicola said she ran into Nick in the Official site chat. If anybody else gets the chance, please ask them some of this stuff.

(((this is only if I could interview them in private, individually!)))

--Howie, the whole "feud" between 'N Sync and BSB has been talked about time and time again. You've mentioned that you and Chris Kirkpatrick were friends at one point, possibly still today. Yet both groups remain to be "deuling", if you will. Was there ever a time when you were forced to break this friendship with Chris, or a time where you felt isolated from the group because of different viewpoints?

--AJ, if you could travel back in time to when you were a child, and were able to see ahead to your experiences in the future as they are now, would you take a different path other than showbusiness?

--Kevin, even though the BSB have been together for so many years now, you all still mention how you "fight like brohters," which is understandable. Was there ever a time when you felt isolated or left out of the group because of your age or maturity?

--Brian, why are you so damn cute? (JK!!!)

--Kevin, you mentioned once you didn't really like your voice. Do you still feel as though your voice is not up to your standards? (Is this why you left your voice out of solos in Back to Your Heart and songs from Black and Blue?)

--ALL, at what point did you start making decisions about your own songs, like who sings what parts, etc.? How do you work this out when recording today?

--Nick, you never went to your homecoming dance, even your prom. What would you say to those fans who skip their homecoming dances, their proms, etc. to go to a BSB concert? To those who are persuing a dream similar to yours as a high schooler? (Will you go to my prom? --JK!)

--Brian & Kevin, do you think you'll have children at any time soon? :)

I guess that's it for now!
Anna
