Since we did the Nad's endorsement last week, I feel the need to add one more - The One Sweep Wonder Broom, or whatever it's called. The rubber squeegee one. I had tried for months to get the dog hair lifted out of the carpet to no avail. I'm bebopping around Target one day and lo and behold, there on an end cap, is the coveted One Sweep bathed in a golden light at the miserly cost of $9.99. I had to have one. It works, it really works. All those dust bunnies and crumbs that skitter away from a regular broom, they're nothing to that which is THE WONDER BROOM. Oh, and it got rid of the dog hair too.

I use my vacuum on the floor setting. Believe me, it works. But I don't have a dog.

ha..ha..ha ig. Yes, I used the vacuum. I'm talking about the stuff that is permanently stuck to the carpet that won't come up no matter how many times you run over it with the Hoover. The stuff that is electrostatically bonded to the carpet fibers forever and ever amen.

I'm simply in awe that there's man out there who knows how to run a vacuum. I'm shocked.

Even though it's ig, you're still shocked? Hmmm, whodathunkit.

I keep house like Joan Crawford. I'm a bit obsessed with cleanliness. But nobody is really shocked by that, I'm sure.

Has anyone bought the Ron Popeil "Showtime" Rotisserie? I'm tempted to plunk down some dough for this snazzy device. Why do the chefs in attendance have to wear their chef attire complete with high hat?

It must make the endorsement that much more believable http://talk.livedaily.com/docs/rolleyes.gif
I always wanted to get the pasta maker.
And wasn't the spray on hair the lamest? Ron, stick with the appliances and the Pocket Fisherman. Sheesh!

The funny thing about GLH (the hair stuff) was that it made a GREAT gag gift for 40+ year old birthday parties.

I thought GLH was the furniture refinisher. Oh wait, no, that was QRB.

Remember that short little Australian dude with the red suspenders that is the demo guy for all those products? What a hoot!

I'm such a Hoover for infomercials. Nad's, California Beauty, Curves (my cat ate one), The Sweater Machine, and we can't forget HSN. Lock up my credit card and cancel my cable!
I almost forgot, the portable grill that uses newspaper. I still have the fake Ginsu knife that came with it, so I suppose that was $39.95 well spent http://talk.livedaily.com/docs/rolleyes.gif

What's with that new "snap-twist" hair clip gizmo? Everytime they twist it, it sounds like they broke it.
How 'bout the Red Devil grill with your hosts, Mick and Mimi!!

Oh, you mean the Hairigami. I think it works like a snap bracelet.
And that would remind me that I got the BeadMagin thing for my daughter, but not through TV, at Walgreen's *As Seen On TV*. The beads are now mostly tools of destruction for my feet.
I also bought the Space Bags *As Seen On TV*. They don't work because they're cheap ass pieces of crap that break as soon as you fill them.

How 'bout that $199.00 TotalGym? I waited 3 mos for mine, never showed. I cancelled it and ordered the $1,500.00 unit, it came in 2 days! Shoulda gotten the $39.00 belly buster.

Brenda DyGraf is SOOOOOOOO perky!!!
It's not the real thing if SHE didn't endorse it.

No, I believe it's not the real deal unless it's endorsed by steroid popping wonder boy Tony Little.

Anybody buy the Tony Robbins crap?
"Personal Power" or something like that?
How about Carlton Sheets Real Estate course? I knew a guy that bought the course. It teaches you to become a slumlord. All your income comes from the government and it's GUARANTEED money every month.
William McCorkle, the guy who would give you cash for a cut on your property, got busted and is now in jail.

While my miserable self was laying on the couch yesterday with two golf balls in my throat, I was flipping channels and came across a show called "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore". And who do you think was hosting it? Carol Brady! So I had to watch... It was an infomercial for the T-Fal Infusium Cooker.
I'm telling you, this thing ROCKS. You can cook beef stew in 15 minutes. You can throw frozen meat, uncooked pasta, and some sauce in there for 8 minutes, and when you're done, your meal is ready. It takes 45 minutes to cook a beef roast, that normally takes all day... and she cut it with a credit card!
I SO wanted it, and was sitting there with pen and paper in hand... until they told me the harsh news... only 10 easy payments of $39.99.
Whatever.

What in the name of Monty Hall is an "easy" payment?

Sep 29th, 2000, 08:13 AM
Luv2 bought the stuff by the 26-year-old make a million overnight dude. Can't remember his name, but he was way to effervescent. Plunked down close to a grand to put ads all over the place. I believe the investment has yet to be recouped.
Luv2, care to speak on your own behalf?

Don LaPre is the 26 year-old boy wonder with Cindy Margolis as his "host".
Geez, I stay up watching TV too much too late.

Sep 29th, 2000, 08:18 AM
Noobs, you would be correct. Is that guy just way too annoying? He's even worse than watching Ron Popeil's Mick Jagger lips flapping around for 30 minutes.

How bout Kevin Trudeau and his Mega-Memory course with host, Danny Partridge?
bonzbabe
Sep 29th, 2000, 08:28 AM
That would be Matthew Lefko I believe. Doesn't he also wear Sally Jesse Raphael-esque glasses? I actually ordered his book off of HSN. Like I said, Hoover.

Doesn't Danny Bonaducci also do some kung fu infomercial...at least it starts out that way. I've never gotten more than 20 seconds into it.

I think ole Red is into kung fu big time. I did see that infomercial, and recently saw and old "CHiPs" re-run were he put a can of whoop-ass on Officer Poncherello.

Geez Shirl, thanks for bringing up the Don LaPre deal. I'm pissing myself in humiliation. http://talk.livedaily.com/docs/redface.gif
BTW, the One Sweep is cool, but the handle is too flimsey. Spend $2.00 and buy a wood broom handle to replace the original unit.
