All the small things...

Upon careful listening to B&B for the 3,287,334th time, I've come to find all the small things to be the highlights of the songs. You know, those little things that make each song great? If you're gonna read this, you better pop in your B&B CD first. If you're not prepared to fast forward to each part, get out :p

The way Nick says confession (2:15) and the way he shows us the true shape of his HEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRTTTTT (3:12) in SOMH
Brian's "hehehe" (:11) in GAB
Nick's oooh yeah (1:11) in SS
The way Nick says sugar, darlin' in IPY (2:06)
The dooh dooh at the end of IPY (4:04)
Nick's ooooohhh in TATOL (2:55)
AJ's yeaaaaaaaaaahhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh in Everyone (3:11)
The way Brian sings his solo in MTT that almost makes you want to cry
The way Time makes you feel like you've been with them thru their whole career, even if you're a new fan.
No no uh uh has taken on a new meaning for me since NFM
How you can hear Nick go ooooooh oh at around 2:14 in and the uhhhhh uhh yeah yeah at 2:29 in NFM
The oooh aaahhs in the background during WMYD (1:50)
The way Kev sings "you don't know, touched my life, so many ways" under AJ in WMYD (2:15)
"What makes you, what makes you different" at the end of the song...I LOVE that part. (2:38)
Just about everything Howie does in WMYD, especially the oohhoohh part at (3:18)
Nick singing ooooh oooh at around 1:31 right before Brian sings in HDIFILWY.
How you can hear Howie breathing at the end of HDIFILWY (around 3:35 or so)
(during HDIFILWY) The way, if you close your eyes, you can picture Kevin playing the piano during the ITM tour. You know, how he's all concentrating on what he's doing?
The way you can completely forget about everything if you just close your eyes and listen.

Anyone that can add anything that I've missed or does anyone feel the same about these little things?

I totally agree with you...it's the little things that make the songs personal. There's something about knowing and singing the little parts when they come up...it makes me feel like a big FAN!!!! (DUH!!!) But it is fun to sing to those parts..........I especially love the end of IPY.........What is your fav part???!!!!!!!:)

I think every Backstreet fan knows EXACTLLY what you're saying. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE sings a song like our Boys. :D PURE EMOTION...they LOVE to sing and record, plus they do it so well. :) I have so many fave parts in B&B, it would take me forever to name them all. SO basically every word, every note, every "baby", every ahhhhh, uhhhhhhh, ohhhhhh, and yeaaaaaaaaaaaaahh. :D

I've just realized that MTT may be my favorite song by the BSB. Close behind SMTM.

In my opinion, MTT is the best song they have ever recorded. No words can express how much I love that song. The whole song just makes you stop and listen and the emotions you hear&feel just carry you away on a never-ending journey thru the Backstreet world.

All I know is I thought it was a classic hearing acapella MTT and I think they need to do it more often.:)

Amen! It's definitely all those things that you mentioned that make every BSB fan fall in love with them over and over again whenever you hear their songs. Their unique way of singing different verses/versions of the song at the same time is what continues to amaze me. And, every time I listen to a BSB song, I hear something different!! They make every ooh and ahh something special!

My personal fav little parts:
The way Bri sings the Hmmmmm, yeah yeah :eek: (0:03)and "Keeeeep you in the dark" (2:50) in SOMH
The way Bri sings "I mean it, aint nothing that hes worthy of" (2:57) in GAB
The way Nick does that breath thing in Shining Star during his part after he says "baby you're as close as close can get" and then he does this thing where he breathes in? (1:06). It is SO sexy!
The way Nick sings "sugar darlin I promise yeahhh" (3:09) in I promise you.
Gotta agree with Juju on Nick's Ohhhhhh in TOTOL. But also the way Bri belts out "the answer to out lifeeeee" (2:16)
The way Brian sings "said this one goes out to" (2:56)in Everyone.
Every word and note they sing in More Than That is absolutely incredible. The way they sing the song is so indescribable. It's amazing, I've never heard something that had so much heart put into it.
I have loved the "ooooohhh"(1:36) in Time since the first day I heard it. I love all of the song though because it does make you feel like you had a big part in the bsb experience. It makes you feel like you've been with them every step of the way.
The way Nick goes "Mmmhhmmmmm" (3:00) in Not For Me.
The way Bri goes "yeah yeah yeah"(0:05) and then the "oohhhh" (0:09) in Yes I Will. The way Nick goes (3:24)"oh yeahh, ooohh yeahhh" and the way Kev says "I...I...I... will" (3:38)
The way HDIFILWY reminds me of the little stage part of my first B&B concert while looking at Bri, AJ, Howie and Kev and just wanting to cru my eyes out. (Shhh Nick people, he was on the other side :p)
The way Kev repeats Aj's parts in WMYD.
Can we start one of these threads for the Millennium Cd? I want an excuse to look for all my fav parts on that :o

I would be listening to all of these if I hadn't misplaced my cd (some would say lost - AGAIN). I should just buy a copy for every cd player in the house. But anyway...

Ahh.. i love MTT!! Ok.. Flashback time. I can remember hearing about teh CD before it came out.. and Nick saying that More That That is just a song that you listen to and you start crying. I was like, aww Nicky cries.. but i am so sure that it will make you cry. When i got the CD.. i listened to that song, and i like started weeping, my mother was like what the h*lls wrong with you?? haha.. memories. Anyway.. that song just brings a tear to my eye everytime. And i have to agree Brian's part in the middle might be the best part.

Another thing is how in WMYDMYB howie says the material thaaaangs. HaHa.. i LOOOOOVE That!!!

I just started listening to some songs from concerts and nothing beats AJ when he just starts yelling instead of singing. Especially when he does Hey Mr DJ...I love that "play it, play it for ME!" thing he does.

On a lighter note, anyone else catch this in SS: Right after "Doesn't matter if the phone don't ring" you hear someone going "brrrrrring!"

Everyone: When Brian first says "...this one goes out to youuuuuu yeah" then "this one goes out to yooooooooooooooooooooohhhhuuuu"!! Those parts make the song one of my favorite upbeats from them.

HDIF: when Brian and Howie sing "to make you mine", "so fast this time", "what did you do", "in love with you"!!! Are you kidding me? They start both singing the melody then break into the harmony. Notice the first verse doesn't have Kevin singing the baritone part but if you hear hard enough, you can hear his LOW, LOW, LOW line in the chorus. It's mindblowing!!

WMYD: "everything in you is beautiful/ the love you give shines right through me/ oh you're beautiful, to me (to me)" That whole part, especially how D and Brian sing that last part and when Howie sings "Oooh ooh ooh ohh" during the "everything in you is beautiful..." part, mindblowing! That whole last chorus before this part, all of it is beautiful!!

GAB: Brian saying "stop actin' like you're givin' up" is almost like he's pissed, it's so damn, I don't know. "You must know", "babay", all of Brian's adlibs after that, brilliant. Aj saying "backstreet" in the beginning; "do you really wanna be the last know..."; AJ finishing "love" in the bridge. Nick saying "anymore" in the second verse. Actually, the whole second verse is like the best part of the song.

MTT: Brian's first verse, Brian singing the bridge with the guitar, brilliant, all of Brian's adlibs, especially the "baaaaaaaack" in the last chorus, mindblowing. AJ saying "it takes to keep you blind". He says it so smoothly after he belted out "whatever", brilliant!! Nick saying "I just can't be friends/ baby knowing in the end" with the nasalness. It's so cute! How AJ says "More than that" after Nick sings the whole chorus. The whole song is too much.

Not for me: Brian's adlib in the beginning. I like Nick's digitalized voice saying "sweet disguise", that's cool. Nick saying "tired" with such conviction, that's so freakin' cool. He almost growls it. Nick's "Ohhh" in the second verse, lol. All of Nick's "ohhs" Brian's "no nos", "should be". All of Brian's and Nick's adlibs, lol.

NFM: love the wholesong but at 2:27 AJ's ssssaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay reasons to say" and then Nick's "aaahhhhhh ahhhhhhh" and all the other bits... so dayum sekky. 2:51 - with the pause and they go "whoo" 1:20 Nick's TIIIIIIIRED of you're games of hide and seek" that tiiired. mmmm.
