Honey, it's OK to like what you like . . . even if it's old geezer 80s music. :) I happen to be 30 and so that 80s music was the pop music du jour when I was a kid, but, guess what? I also really liked stuff from the 70s/60s/50s back then. So it's not so strange to like music that's older than or as old as you. Just get down wich ya' bad self and dig what ya dig. ;) Plus, listen to some of the dance music today and then go pick up some Kraftwerk or Joy Division from back in the day. The 1980s gave birth to electronica and you can hear it in every note of the new stuff. And rap: Nelly's latest song sounds totally like old school 80s/early 90s rap too . . . . So I'd say that you're just exploring the roots of what's popular now if you're diggin' 80s music . . . . And, hey, look around at all of us. You're in great company! :D

I'm 33 :D
No, you are not weird for being 16 and liking 80's music. More power to you!

Just shows you have taste. :D
At 26, I'm one of the younger ones in here, but age is really a mindset in this place, you'll find.
MerrySunshine
Apr 30th, 2001, 08:15 AM
And if we're talking mental age, I'd say that the lot of us average out at about 12 and a half. ;)
vester
Apr 30th, 2001, 08:22 AM
13 on a good day. ;)

Apr 30th, 2001, 08:53 AM
It's all about acting your shoe size... 6 1/2, thank you very much! :D
vester
Apr 30th, 2001, 08:57 AM
Sunny, you and I could share shoes!
Aloha X! You dodged the question too my friend. ;)
MerrySunshine

Apr 30th, 2001, 09:01 AM
Well vester, we'll definitely have to do that!
I see a whole new area for Fed Ex to tackle...shoe exchange! ;)

Apr 30th, 2001, 09:06 AM
It's ingenius! Why has no one thought of it before.
We'll be pioneers. Can I be Half Pint?

Hmm...would the money we save on shoes be overshadowed by the money we spend on shipping?
Inquiring minds want to know...
vester
Apr 30th, 2001, 09:15 AM
Simple.
We just have to ensure we buy very expensive shoes.
Short Chris
Apr 30th, 2001, 09:27 AM
Hmmmm, you might have me on that one vester. Maybe I'll just admit to being older than you but younger than Newbs. :)
vester
Apr 30th, 2001, 09:29 AM
Well X, I'm 25 so that would make you 27! ;)
Wow, is Newbs 30?
Short Chris
Apr 30th, 2001, 09:38 AM
Ummm yeah, that sounds about right.

Well then you can't use my big wheel. So there :p
insearchofjason
Apr 30th, 2001, 09:53 AM
There is nothing right about sharing shoes. The only thing that creeps me out more, is when you see a pair of shoes at a garage sale. AS IF somebody is going to buy those beat-up old things for 10 cents.
Sunny, how do you wear size 6 1/2 shoes? Aren't you almost my height? I wear 9 1/2.
MerrySunshine
Apr 30th, 2001, 10:00 AM
ISOJ, you and I can do the FedEx shoe swap, then . . . .
And speaking of shoes, when do your feet stop growing? For the longest time I wore an eight (from like seventh grade until I was 19 or 20), then eight and a half, in law school I moved up to nine . . . and recently, I've got to nine and a half. If this keeps up, I'm going to wear size 15 by the time I'm 40 and will have to shop for my dress shoes with all the drag queens . . . .

I have small little dainty feet. Except they are tall...tall feet are a curse.
MerrySunshine
Apr 30th, 2001, 11:35 AM
OK, please explain tall feet. I don't understand tall feet. Mine are tall if you stand them on end. I'm over six feet tall on my tippy toes! ;)
vester
Apr 30th, 2001, 11:41 AM
Oh good, Merry. I didn't know what tall feet are either. I thought maybe I missed something in the Canadian translation.
Do you have big arches Sunny? Is that what you mean?
insearchofjason
Apr 30th, 2001, 11:42 AM
That's what I'm picturing when I think of "tall feet".
Block feet.
NikDC
Apr 30th, 2001, 11:44 AM
My feet are shrinking if anyone's interested. Apparently when you shrink, your feet do too. Something to ponder. Any 8s out there to trade with me?
vester
Apr 30th, 2001, 11:49 AM
Oh God, when did you shrink?
Don't you shrink when you are a lot older?
I don't want to shrink anymore.
MerrySunshine
Apr 30th, 2001, 12:03 PM
No, no. I've shrunk as well and my feet are getting bigger. That can't be right . . . . Maybe your foot shrinkage has somehow contributed to my foot growth.
Short Chris
Apr 30th, 2001, 12:16 PM
So there is a zero-sum game going on between your feet? Very interesting.
sunshinegirl
Apr 30th, 2001, 12:16 PM
Tall feet...
Yes I have very high arches but I also have a lot of foot between the top of my arch and the top of my foot. Try finding shoes to fit THAT!
The length of my foot is about a 5 1/2...my shoes that I have to buy range from a 6 1/2 to a 9...depending.

No wonder you wore open toed sandles in November...
NikDC
Apr 30th, 2001, 12:24 PM
As long as you only get the foot surplus from my shrinkage, Merry. Don't try blaming me if you get anything from the rest of the shrinkage.
Not vertically, vester. :p At least not that I've noticed...oh Lord, help me if I get any shorter and ISOJ can use me for a plate rest as much as a drink rest.

I have high arches too Sunny, I feel your pain. But not the problem with the tall feet.
Whew, there is a guy in here who looks very much like Colin Firth. I just saw him in the hall and stopped in my tracks. I think he thought there was something wrong with him because he looked at me very self-conscious. Wow, I must find out who he is.
However, he is sorely lacking in the sexy accent department.

No, apparently all other shrinking, both yours and mine is going to some unfortunate third party . . . . (Wait, maybe I know who that is . . . I am evil.)
Zero-sum game with our feet . . . very funny.

This guy looked exactly like the top picture.
Well that was embarrassing.
He was in HR. So I casually go in after he's left to make enquiries. Apparently he's one of our Sales Reps, married (boo), then he comes back to the office and we are introduced and I am sure I blushed and said something stupid and left.
I'm a goob.

Trance, vester? I'm not much for it either . . . actually, I get bored with most electronic music now, find that my eight-measure phrase sensibilities don't do well with the two-measure phrases of most techno now-a-days. Musician friend of mine says it's b/c I'm too intelligent for it, need more mental stimulation. That's you too, right, v? :)
