Hello all! First of all, thank you all of you who have shown concern over people posting over at my forum. And I sincerely apologize to anyone who is anxiously awaiting a reply from me there. I've been tending to quite a bit of work on the fanclub and other things, but I'll sit down and try to post a lot of answers within the next couple of days.

I've actually come here to ask for everyone's input. The plans for the new revamped official site are coming along very well. It's extremely important to us, however, that we know what you all want. So I'll be popping in here asking you all for input here and there.

My first question is this: when you go to view video online and listen to audio clips, which plug ins do you prefer, Windows Media Player, RealAudio, Quicktime, MP3, Liquid Audio....??

Please give me your input on this, as I am turning the entire thread over so that it can be implemented into the official website.

Thanks!
Much love
Shelly

I would go with Windows because Real Audio messes up a lot. I always have problems getting it started and it always says net congestion during the song and I can never hear it again.

Hi Shelly!

I would give my vote to Windows Media Player and RealAudio. Both formats are good.

upscalator
May 21st, 2001, 10:00 PM
Well it depends...

If I am to listen in to a few seconds of some condensed song, I favor real player's buffering for immediate access to whatever. Hoping that my bandwidth is sufficient in enough.

On the other hand I much more prefer the actual downloading of mp3(s) for sound-quenching full length songs.

& for video clips...you'll need a fast connection for worth-while feedback

Any of those options would be fine as long as they are downloadable.
Not many users have a fast connection and sometimes is a pain to try to see even the smallest video or to listen to the shortest audio clip.
By the way, can we give you input too on some other topics? like what we'd like the site to have or something like that?

Windows Media Player, it's usually the clearest for audio files. :)

Jerete, i am not sure about that, she has asked for this thing LOONG time ago, and I dunno if it is still available or not. I have asked her to put "All I wanna do" video as one of Xtina's previous collaborations before her RCA records deal :) really hope she will get it on that site!

Hi Mrs.Kearns
I think...If I wanna listen or watch a clip of song/video I prefer Real or Window media plyer.
Mp3 is great .. good quality and full length songs..

But for the video ...I do really prefer QuickTime...It is good quality video ....and Most of the movie trailers use it :)

Thank you so much .....

sohli5
May 22nd, 2001, 07:13 PM
hey Shelly how are ya?
i think the windows media player will be best and
the other thing should be that the videos that are
put up on the website should have both the option
to download and the option to see the video online.
so thos ehaving slow connection can download the
video and those having the fast connection can view
it online.and u can have the videos put up such that
they donwload only for that time not permanently.

Hey shelly i think the site should have quicktime because its so clear like seeing it on tv and the site should also have all the videos christina has ever made in english and spanish. Also shelley I would love it if u would put Pictures of christina when she was younger please.
Or media player is ok.

mp3's....

Love2HearChristina
May 23rd, 2001, 12:59 AM
I agree with christinaholic. I'd prefer anything except streaming media because that stuff lags sometimes. It's more convenient to just download stuff to watch whenever we want than having to be connected to the internet to watch videos or listen to songs with pauses here and there when it's loading.

marduk191
May 23rd, 2001, 01:22 AM
Windows Media Audio and Video because it is fairly decent quality (as good as low bandwidth is gonna get) and it has many security options to keep people from pirating the media if it is configured correctly and the proper rights management is implemented. Real audio and video just sucks ..badly..the audio is ok ..not great but forget about video.lol (it does ahve it's anti piracy benefits for now but no one has released many exploits for the streaming RM format to the public yet) Every other media format is a big file size so you would have to put download links for low bandwidth users and then they would distribute them all over the pirate websites and sharing programs...just a thought though.Peace
