They're the giants of pop

THESE giant figures of rock and pop’s biggest names are the stars of an amazing new MERRY-GO-ROUND.

The singers — Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osbourne and Beyoncé Knowles — are among 14 chart icons spinning on the carousel as seven-foot plaster models.

The wheel of fame — which fans can ride for free — has been set up in New York to celebrate the 20th annual MTV Music Video Awards tomorrow.

The attraction is next to Radio City Music Hall, from where the awards will be broadcast.

Other caricatures on the carousel include Busta Rhymes, Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani, Kid Rock, Fred Durst, Snoop Dogg and Dr Dré.

The absence of queen of pop Madonna has baffled some fans.

But fans on the carousel are enjoying riding in showbiz circles.

An MTV spokesman said: “Everyone’s loving it.”

And one excited fan said: “It’s fantastic. Obviously it is better to see the stars in real life but this is the next best thing.”

They have this big carousel featuring some of the best vma moments in the past 20 years. Britney's doll represents her 2001 VMA Slave performance. I want Britneys and Cyndi Laupers.
