'What Would You Do' gets a second wind

THE REMIXES continues to slide down one more spot this week to #4 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart. Sarah McLachlan's REMIXED falls to #3 meaning there is a new #1 and it is a debut from The Crystal Method with LEGION OF BOOM.

"Through the Rain" drops to #21 on Hot Dance Singles Sales with just two weeks short of its 1 year anniversary on the chart. The chart only has 25 positions so perhaps "Rain" might not be able to reach that milestone. Though with the sad state of commercial singles nowadays it will likely reach the 1 year mark.

Just when you thought "What Would You Do" had peaked on the R&B singles chart it rebounds on the chart to a new peak of #57. The track makes a re-entrance onto the R&B airplay chart at the same position. Next week we could potentially see "What Would You Do" chart on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. Missy Elliott's latest single, "I'm Really Hot" is just four spots higher on the R&B singles chart and also debuts on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart at #16.

Once again Alicia Keys' "You Don't Know My Name" leads all R&B titles for the seventh straight week. Unbulletted, Alicia now faces competition from two songs behind her that are gaining: Twista's "Slow Jamz" and Beyonce's "Me, Myself, And I". Beyonce's previous two singles went to #1 on the R&B singles chart (and of course on the Hot 100 as well).

Speaking of the Hot 100 -- OutKast still holds down the top two spots on the main singles chart. After frustratingly sitting right outside the top ten for weeks, No Doubt add another top ten to their tally with "It's My Life". Also new to the top ten are Nickeback's "Someday" and the song likely to be the next #1, Usher's "Yeah".

This week the third season of American Idol debuted and season two winner Ruben Studdard makes some nice gains on both the R&B singles chart (#9) and the Hot 100 (#20). Of course Studdard already has a #2 single to his credit on both charts, "Superstar" which was prevented from reaching #1 on the Hot 100 thanks to Clay Aiken's "This Is the Night" and on the R&B singles chart by Monica's "So Gone". However this time around the achievement is made thanks to healthy airplay and not singles sales. Ruben's album SOULFUL is sitting comfortably in the top ten of the Billboard 200.

The Billboard 200 sees a previous #1 regain its title -- OutKast's SPEAKERBOXX/THE LOVE BELOW. Sheryl Crow sees a new peak for her best of set which has matched the peak of C'MON C'MON at #2, her best showing to date. Believe it or not Sheryl has yet to score a #1 on either the Billboard Hot 100 or the Billboard 200 but she has been runner-up on both charts (on the Hot 100 it was with her breakout smash "All I Wanna Do").
