Thumbs Up Tour Diary:Billy & Rose Falcon: the week that was

Hello fellow Falcon fans:

Well, I just wanted to check in and report on the week that was….

Billy & Rose played six shows in nine days, in the N.Y. area;

A house show hosted by the Condy’s kicked things off June 30th,

The following evening (July 1st) at Rye Playland.

Then Monday evening, July 3rd, with family, dear friends and old falcoholics
(Some of whom haven’t had a dose of Falcon music in years) in attendance,
They took over the Bitter End in NYC for an amazing and extremely entertaining performance.

Then, on Friday, July 7th they were back at Eleanor Rigby’s in Mineola
for two more shows;

Before closing out the week with a show in South Plainfield, NJ on July 8th
hosted by Brian Cargill, which also saw a gathering of some old Falcon fans from the South Jersey music scene, some carrying worn vinyl LP’s looking for an autograph and leaving the shows, smiling after obtaining copies of the first record, BF Burning Rose on CD and hearing Rose perform for the first time.

Some observations: over the course of these shows, Billy and Rose played some old favorites as well as some stunning new material.

Billy previewed many of the twelve new songs on his forthcoming record, Made Man, which were awesome. Over the course of the week, at one show or another he performed: Happy Hour, Sugar, Brick Off a Bridge, which Rose performs with him; Made Man, Mr. Smith, Sinatra, My Friend, The Only One That Doesn’t Know, and Sweet Dream.

Rose stunned the audiences with her stage presence, amazing vocals, and the depth of her writing with new songs like Fishbowl, How Bad Are You, Fingerprints, Me Too, Melt Away and Everything Is Falling (which Billy performs with Rose).

Whether the audience was large or small, Billy and Rose performed each song with all the heart and emotion we have come to expect from these two amazing people.
When they weren’t singing they were busy entertaining the audience with their stories!
They are a joy to behold and leave their audiences anxious to see them
again.

Thanks to all those that hosted or attended any of these shows for your interest and support of Billy & Rose.

Well, that’s about it, for an amazing week I will never forget!
